View From the Ferris Wheel

Last week, Eric and I attempted to get on the last Ferris Wheel ride of the night (for half price, thank you Groupon) in an attempt to get some amazing sunset/skyline photos.  Well, the sunset wasn't particularly amazing, but I still got a couple decent shots.

Underground Wonder Bar

I've been wanting to get to this place for quite some time.  The Underground Wonder Bar  has 4.5 stars out of 5 on yelp.  It recently moved to a different location because it grew out of it's original place.  Unfortunately, it's current location is no longer "underground." It has live music every night, a popular house band, and I've heard great things.  Not sure if it was because I had a long week at work or what, but I wouldn't put this place at top of your Chicago Bucket List.  The music wasn't anything special, the drinks were extremely over-priced, and they charge a cover.  And with a name like that, I kind of feel like perhaps they should actually be underground...

Jersey Boys

Eric and I went to Jersey Boys on Easter, it was AWESOME!  I highly recommend to anyone who is on the fence.  We both really enjoyed it.  Of course, they are super strict about photos inside the theater, but I got a few outside and in the lobby.

Such ornate ceilings...

Afterwards, an amazing dinner at Petterino's!  Such a perfect place to go before or after a show.

Earth is Beautiful

Do you ever stop to realize beautiful this earth is?  I know I'm kind of a sunset fanatic, but can you believe how gorgeous this is?  These shots are SOTC (photography term - straight out of the camera - aka zero editing).  We are so lucky and we don't even know it.

Navy Pier Parking Garage

Fourth Presbyterian Church

This famous church located on Michigan Avenue is one of the oldest (built in 1912) and most recognizable churches in Chicago from the outside (in a large part thanks to its location but also because it is gorgeous), but in all the years I have lived here, I have never stepped a foot inside.  Until today!  It was absolutely beautiful.  Perhaps even better than it's exterior.  I recently found out that this church is the oldest structure on Michigan Avenue, with the exception of the Chicago Water Tower.

Wells Street Bridge

Downtown

Chicago architecture is pretty sweet, huh?

Tourist weekends are back... and along with them... the street performers.

They don't move until you pay... he's pointing towards the bucket.

Good old John Hancock.

More Burke!

This is when I discovered the dimples!

Precious baby hands...

Oh, hi!

My latest prop/costume purchase.  I saw it on etsy and I couldn't resist...

Waaah!

I think my photo shoot wore him out...

Proud Parents at the baptism!

Wicker Park Walk

Love this neighborhood.  When it comes time for apartment/condo hunting next year, I am definitely going to be looking here.

We Love Burke!

We spent last weekend in Omaha with our dear friends, the Smiths!  In February, Mitch & Kaela welcomed a baby boy, Burke.  And boy, is he a cutie.  We got lots of snuggle time in and of course found some time for some family photos.  More to come, but I couldn't resist sharing a few!

A Sign of Spring

This month's photo competition is "A Sign of Spring."  I decided to go the flower route... not sure how original that idea is, but I'm trying to decide which one to enter.  Any favorites?
