Torrey Pines

A couple miles north of La Jolla, you will find the gorgeous Torrey Pines State Beach.  The colors were absolutely breathtaking.  I was so happy that I was able to document the beautiful blue of the sky and the vivid orange cliff (scroll down to see these shots).  This was a really busy beach, with both tourists and locals.  It seemed like everyone wanted to be outside, getting some exercise, and enjoying the weather.  It's crazy how little time we spent inside... missing the regular tv shows wasn't a concern and even when we stopped to eat, we always tried to sit outside.  I love the west coast lifestyle, it's so active and healthy.

It was fun to see quite a few surfers for the first time on our trip.  As soon as 3:00pm hit and schools let out, the kids were swarming the beach with their surf boards.  It was hard for this midwestern girl to imagine surfing after school on a regular basis.  It has always seemed like such a luxury to me.

We ended up spending a lot more time here than we initially planned, but still made it to Del Mar for the sunset (those photos coming up next)!
