Under the Sea

More photos from the Shedd Aquarium!

He's staring at us!

Nemo?

Probably the most beautiful fish I have ever seen!

Absolutely love how creative they are when it comes to acknowledging their donors.  So cute.

Love this one!

Black and White for a little drama -

Our dates for the night - Tom & Nick!

Jellies Round 2

For part of my brother's Christmas gift, I took him to the Shedd Aquarium to see an aquatic show, but luckily we had time to check out the famous jellies beforehand.  I am very impressed with their marketing team and the color pallete they chose - so gorgeous.  And the jellies are so fascinating... very relaxing.

Check out my photos from Shedd visit in August 2011.

Work Holiday Party

Eric's work party was held at the Museum of Science and Industry again this year, but we were excited to see the big tree nonetheless.  This year, they have a Grinch theme because they have a Dr. Seuss exhibit going on right now.  The decorations were beautiful, the exhibits were open to walk through, they had a great band playing, and the food and drink were amazing (highlights: potato bar and s'mores!).  There were 50 smaller Christmas trees from around the world (decorated how that country would decorate their trees and their various holiday traditions explained - very cool).  They do a great job with this event.  Excited to see where it will be next year!

PS - You won't be seeing photos from my Holiday work party because it was a pot luck lunch!  Ha, got to love the difference between the non-profit and for-porfit worlds...

Field Museum

Eric and I took last Monday off of work to finally make a trip to the Field Museum. We have lived in Chicago for 3ish years and we still haven't made it to the Field Museum, which is probably the most popular museum in Chicago. I am really glad we went, and I really enjoyed the little part we were able to see of the new 911 exhibit (it was actually one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen) and I also enjoyed reading about the different types of whales (you would not believe how big some of them get) and the people who study them. There was a plastic bag on exhibit that was taken out of a dead whales stomach. I will never forget this, nor will I ever let a plastic bag go anywhere but the trash. It's definitely worth a visit once in your lifetime.

Jellies and More!

Still playing catch up with my posts (hence multiple Shedd Aquarium posts).

Jazzin' at the Shedd is more than a patio with amazing city views and some beluga whales, they also had their main attraction open - the Jellies exhibit! We had a ton of fun walking around, checking out these mysterious creatures and more. I'm not even that much of an animal/sealife type person, yet I can't recommend this place enough. It is a lot of fun for all ages.

Just hangin' with the Beluga Whales

Shedd Aquarium = awesome. So far, it is BY FAR my favorite museum in Chicago (but I haven't been to the Field Museum quite yet).

More information on Beluga Whales.
