Jersey Boys

Eric and I went to Jersey Boys on Easter, it was AWESOME!  I highly recommend to anyone who is on the fence.  We both really enjoyed it.  Of course, they are super strict about photos inside the theater, but I got a few outside and in the lobby.

Such ornate ceilings...

Afterwards, an amazing dinner at Petterino's!  Such a perfect place to go before or after a show.

Zooming the Chicago Theater

Set up my tripod the other night and played around with zooming the Chicago marquee.  I liked #2 the best and ended up entering it in Chicagoland's Digital Photography's "Show Me a Sign" photo competition.  Voting is open for another week or two, but it's not looking good for me.  Regardless, I was pretty pleased with this shot.

UP Comedy Club

I recently got the opportunity to go to a stand up show at UP!  Up Comedy Club is Second City's latest addition.  It is located on the third floor in their building and is a brand new cabaret style club.  Second City Producers have developed four signature shows for this theater, but they are also focusing on bringing in various stand-up comedians.  They are open 7 nights a week and is a must stop on your Chicago Bucket List.

We went to see Garfunkel and Oats, a comedy-folk duo from LA consisting of two talented actress-songwriters.  They ended up being less stand-up than I expected, but they incorporated some really funny songs into their routine that I absolutely loved.  Definitely interested in seeing where these two end up down the road.

Stop by this great venue for a couple laughs next time you are in Chicago!

Brew & View at the Vic

Eric & I finally made it to Brew & View at the Vic!  The Vic is normally a live music venue, but a couple nights each week it transforms to a large movie house!  We saw three movies, yes, you read that right, THREE in a row.  To see a double or triple feature, it is only $5!  But since I am a groupon junkie, I got both of us in the door + 2 popcorns for only $6!  Thank you groupon!
They let you order in food (we tried Cheesies for the first time) and of course, drink - hence, the name.  They change the movies each week, but we just so happen to see: What's Your Number (not so great), Killer Elite (total guy movie), and 50/50 (absolutely amazing and highly suggest).
Look forward to hopefully getting back to the Vic for a concert in the future.

Oriental Theatre

Home of the most popular stage production in Chicago history (Wicked!), I introduce you to the Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre.

The Chicago Sign... again

As long as this sign exists... I will continue to take way too many photos of it.
