Walking Tour

A couple weekends ago, we went on a walking tour with the Chicago Architecture Foundation.  Surprisingly, we really enjoyed it.  I would definitely suggest this to any local or tourist.  I have now been on a boat, bus, and walking tour with this company and all three have been great.  Check them out!

Christkindlmarket

Another successful visit to Christkindlmarket is in the books!  Christkindlmarket is a traditional German holiday market in downtown Chicago during the month of December.   Beautiful ornaments and German Christmas decorations are for sale along with hot chocolate in boots, beer and food - German of course, toys, chocolate candies, and much much more!  We have started a tradition of buying an ornament each year for our tree.  This year, we found one of the Golden Gate bridge to symbolize our week long trip to San Francisco earlier this year.

The Chicago Picasso

The Picasso is an untitled sculpture by Pablo Picasso in Daley Plaza.  It is located in the loop and many kids enjoy sliding down the base of the sculpture.  Dedicated in 1967, it is one of the older pieces of art in the loop.  It can often be seen dressed up to support the appropriate Chicago sports team when they reach the playoffs.
