Streets of Chicago

What do you think... man holding a can with his toes for money... more or less likely to donate?  I'm going to go with less...

Tina Turner... what do you think?  Not too shabby.

Earth is Beautiful

Do you ever stop to realize beautiful this earth is?  I know I'm kind of a sunset fanatic, but can you believe how gorgeous this is?  These shots are SOTC (photography term - straight out of the camera - aka zero editing).  We are so lucky and we don't even know it.

A Sign of Spring

This month's photo competition is "A Sign of Spring."  I decided to go the flower route... not sure how original that idea is, but I'm trying to decide which one to enter.  Any favorites?

Tulip Time!

One of my favorite times of the year!!

State Street that Great Street

Living on State Street is pretty much amazing - here is a shot from my walk home tonight.  (I realize I have taken this photo numerous times, but I can't get enough of it).  Love this city.

Lightscapes on State Street

Trouble on State Street

On the walk home the other night, I encountered quite the activity... a fire on State Street!  It seemed like every fire truck in the city showed up.  Hopefully there wasn't another fire anywhere else in the city, ha.  We didn't see any evidence of an actual fire so they either put it out in a hurry or it was a false alarm.  Never a dull night in Chicago!

Christmas in the City

Hotel 71 gets in the holiday spirit.

Marina City residents light up their balconies!

Earlier this month, many of the buildings were lit up pink.  Why pink in December you ask?  Well, sadly, former Mayor Daley's wife Maggie passed away from breast cancer.  It was beautiful to see the city switch from Christmas colors to pink in her memory.

There is this "lightscape" display on State Street right now, these bulbs light up different colors and sing Christmas music, it's kind of wonderful.

Lots of the downtown buildings really get into the spirit with lots of decorations -

This isn't even half of it!  More to come!
