Goodman Theatre
The Goodman Theatre is a professional theater company located in Chicago's loop. It is the oldest operating nonprofit theater organization in the city. The Goodman was founded in 1925, but has only occupied its current space in the theater district since 2000. Prior to that, it was a part of The Art Institute of Chicago where it occupied the space that is now the Modern Wing. Goodman has received many awards including a Tony Award in 1992. Each Christmas, the theater presents "A Christmas Carol." Although, I have yet to see a performance here, it is definitely on the to do list.

The Loveable Losers
I got the opportunity to go to a Cubs game with three of my really good friends this week and we had a great time. I loved the seats, they were up high, but absolutely dead center and perfect for catching the 7th inning singer's hat. Okay, so I didn't quite catch it, but I was close. And of course, I snapped a few photos (surprise, surprise). The Loveable Losers were not able to pull off the W, but that's okay, I still love them. Caitlin, thanks for the invite! It was so good to see you, Jane, and Ryann!

Alzheimer's Action Day
Today is Alzheimer's Action Day. It is a day that we encourage everyone to wear purple and raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's disease. We got the majority of our National staff outside today for a photo and it was so incredible to see all these hard working individuals come together in a sea of purple. I work with such a talented group of passionate people and I am so thankful to be in a profession that enables me to make a difference in the lives of individuals who really need our help... I can't think of any of "job" I would rather be doing.

My Walk Home
Coffee for a Cause
One of the Walk to End Alzheimer's teams sold coffee outside of our office building last week. Thanks Starbucks for donating coffee and thank you to everyone who participated!

Pizzeria Uno
Eric and I finally made it to Pizzeria Uno. Although I have no photographic evidence, Eric and I went out to lunch with good friend and self proclaimed deep dish lover, Andy Wilkinson. Pizzeria Uno claims to have invented the first deep dish pizza when it's doors first opened in 1943. Uno still operates out of it's original building on Ohio and Wabash. It is a rather small building, but instead of moving elsewhere, they just opened Pizzeria Duo across the street! They have since franchised and can be found all around the US, but I'm glad we were able to get to the original spot.

Starved Rock Photos
Eric and I took a day trip to Starved Rock last weekend. It was slightly disappointing that they didn't have any waterfalls... apparently those are only around early spring... lame. But otherwise, we had a great time hiking and taking photos. The canyons were absolutely huge and made you feel pretty insignificant in this beautiful world. It was the perfect little day date, and a great contrast to our normal city life. We hope to take a couple more trips like these. Enjoy the many photos!

Lightning!
A New Chicago Favorite
In an effort to do all and see all that the beautiful city of Chicago has to offer, I have developed a Chicago Bucket List. One of the sections of the list (yes, there are sections) is Bakeries & Cupcake Shops. Last week, Eric and I checked Sweet Mandy B's off the list with my brother and our friend, Megan Renner. It was adorable and absolutely delightful, not to mention delicious! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweet treat. We will most definitely be returning. It might just be my favorite bakery so far. More to come!So cute!
