Brunch with a Great Friend

Last Sunday, I got to have brunch with the one and only Jane O'Brien Godfrey. Jane and I worked together at the American Cancer Society and I can say with full confidence that she is the most genuine, compassionate, and happiest person I have ever met. It is impossible to be in a bad mood around her and she brings out the best in people. I miss working with her and seeing her smiling face every day.

For brunch we tried m.henry's. It is a very popular place in the city and has been on my Chicago Bucket list for breakfast joints to try for quite some time. It has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on yelp and one of my good friends says it is her "favorite restaurant in the city." Now, full disclosure here, I have known to be quite the picky eater, but I really didn't think it was that great. It certainly wasn't anything special this time around. For anyone that is following my breakfast joints posts, Yoke is still my number one with Ann Sather's as a close second.

However, I do have to give them a 5 out of 5 rating on their business model. They know that people will wait in line for a very long time for a table on a weekend morning. Check out this line as we were leaving the place. What do they do to keep all those future customers happy while waiting? They offer them bottomless coffee for free! So smart, well done m. henry's.
And yes, I am that creepy girl with a camera who will take a photo of you pulling your three-kid wagon on a Sunday morning. It was too cute to resist. The littlest one definitely caught me red-handed.
