Eric and I love to volunteer with Chicago Cares - a nonprofit in the city that organizes groups of volunteers - young and old - to go out and make a difference in our city. This past weekend, we lead a group of youth volunteers to spruce up a retirement home on the north side of Chicago. Eric's group was in charge of painting the downstairs walls from a boring white to a fun upbeat blue (no photos, sorry). And my group was in charge of painting a mural for their kitchen. It turned out GREAT! Amazing what can be done in just one morning with a group of volunteers. Go out there and give back. You won't regret it!

ReplyDeleteHa, thanks Jane. I think I gain more out of volunteering than I am able to give back. Miss you!
