Sunday Brunch in the City

One thing I've noticed about Chicago that is different from a couple other places I've lived is their emphasis on good breakfast joints. It seems like everyone here loves a good Saturday or Sunday morning brunch. We live really close to a couple places, but haven't been willing to wait the typical hour it takes to get a table for two at The Bongo Room at 9am on a Sunday morning. Well, this morning, we walked the two blocks to The Bongo Room and put in our name, then went across the street for a Starbucks where we chilled watching the rain fall and the lollapalooza crowds start to pour in for a good half hour before returning the the restaurant just in time.
It was well worth the wait, they are known for their "red velvet pancakes" but have a rotating menu so didn't know if they would be available. They were definitely there and I only got a third of the way threw before throwing in the towel completely stuffed. Definitely a very good place and worth trying, but so far, I'm going to have to give the best breakfast trophy to our usual - Yoke. I will admit we have many more places to try though, so stay tuned...
